What to do during three weeks of lockdown? At Doornkloof Private Nature Reserve we went looking for some beautiful wild flowers in the mountains.
in a Private Nature Reserve
The 500-hectare reserve off the R60 between Worcester and Robertson offers bountiful birdlife including a breeding pair of Verreaux's eagles, small game like Cape grysbok and klipspringer, a family of bush pigs, caracal, genet, honey badgers, Cape clawless otter, bat-eared fox, a migrant troop of baboons, and breeding leopard. Our diverse flora include the seldom seen Brunsvigia josephinae or giant candelabra flower.
